Autor eseju odnosi się do idei „wciskania kitu” (ang. bullshit) jako egzemplifikacji intuicjonistycznej teorii społecznej H. Merciera i D. Sperbera. Przywołuje wiele badań empiryczynych, poświęconych temu zjawisku, w tym te, które omawiają podział światopoglądów według osi indywidualizm vs komunitarianizm oraz hierarchia vs egalitaryzm w kontekście akceptacji bądź odrzucania idei. Odkrywanie „kitu” w przekazie dobrze odzwierciedla heurystykę afektu (lubię/nie lubię) oraz kognitywne mechanizmy obalania dezinformacji.
